MOM is an
application software written with one of the most powerful graphical computer
languages ProvideX (PVX, a product of The Sage Group plc.). As such MOM works
in any computer platform supported by ProvideX (PVX).
Currently
MOM supports the following network operating systems: Windows NT, Windows
2000, Novell, SCO-UNIX, IBM AIX, HP-UX, SUN and Linux, and the following workstation
operating systems: Windows 95/98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and
Windows 2000 Pro.
MOM maintains
a unique set of programs, help files, and core data files regardless of the
network operating system in which it is hosted.Ê There are, however, important configuration differences, related
to the each specific serverâs operating system. These specific differences are
basically related to the way that the OS interface with peripherals (like
printers) and the way they assign files access privileges to users and groups.
MOM can be
installed in any of the following basic network configurations:
Before you install MOM in your system be sure you have the following items:
MOM Installation CD (The appropiate version for your system)
The PVX Serial Number and Activation Key
Run the "setup.exe" program from MOM installation CD provided and follow the wizard.
If you are in a peer-to-peer network run the "setup.exe" from the MOM installation CD on the workstation "acting" as a server. On Novell networks use any workstation and run "setup.exe" from the MOM instalation CD. On MS Windows NT/2000 networks use the server console to run the "setup.exe" program from MOM installation CD provided and follow the wizard.
